I bought this book yesterday, for I must prepare for the next temporary job at an American company. I learned Macintosh at a secretary school decades ago. At that time, I used it as a word processor in order to produce a nice-looking resume.
I didn't know Mac is the abbreviation of Macintosh. Well, Mac is still Macintosh, isn't it? I realized that yesterday. ^^; I thought that Mac was mainly used by designers or maniac users. I wonder if it is popular among American companies, for I used to use Windows at my previous American company.
I was surprised to know many Japanese companies still use the old version of Word & Excel whose extensions are '.doc' and '.xls'. I don't know if foreign affiliated companies are more advanced in the IT environment, however, I'm just going to be flexible to work at any workplaces.

Opera "Cendrillon"
シンデレラ役の里中先生と儀典長役の松井先生。里中先生可愛かった。😄松井先生、すぐに気がつきませんでした。😅
Yesterday I went to see the opera "Cinderella", which my college vocal teacher starred. It was performed by a group called the Tokyo Chamber Opera Theatre. Since they want to make general people more familiar with operas, they always play them in Japanese.
Sengawa Theater is so small that I was able to watch the performers very near and feel their strong power. Opera is, of course, that people who can sing and play. As I am specialized mainly in singing religious music, I wish I could be like an opera singer.
I took the same line that I used to go to school, which I always got on with my classmates. I remembered that I had a pleasant student life while struggling with some subjects in class. I felt a little lonely to be alone with no friends to chat on the train.

Bible comparison: Matthew 7:7-8
The following is the free app 'HOLY BIBLE' for iPhone. It's very useful: there are 1,884 Bible translations in 1,302 languages. We use 'the Japanese colloquial Bible(口語訳)' at our church, which is available from this app. Recently, most churches use '新改訳' which is regrettably not available free.
I like the search function best of the app. It's very handy. You can get 'リビングバイブル' and '新共同訳'. The former is a paraphrased Bible and easier to understand than other traditional ones. You can also listen to it on the app.
As you may know, the New Testament is originally written in Greek and the Old Testament, Hebrew. The reason why I consult other Bibles is '口語訳' translation is a bit hard to understand, especially the Old Testament.
The following is KJV=King James Version. This version is a bit old and difficult: you is ye, ask is asketh, receive is receiveth and so on. My first encounter of the Holy Bible is an English textbook used at my high school. I suppose it was KJV.
I sometimes use the English Living Bible written in simple English for speed reading and reading aloud. I bought it in Kindle version a few years ago. I usually use the following NIV=New International Version, a relatively easy one.
That I like very much is the English translated 'AMP'= the Amplified Bible. Looking up Matthew 7:7, 'ask, seek, knock' in the NIV is expressed as 'ask and keep on asking, seek and keep on seeking, knock and keep on knocking' in the AMP.
The expression 'verb and keep on verb+ing' seems emphasized to continue doing without giving up. From a religious point of view, I think it is very important for us to believe in God and continue praying until we receive what we ask for.

Easter is over, calm Monday...
This is my favorite place 'Nyhavn' in Copenhagen, Denmark. I used to make a 2-week trip to Europe every year, which was a great joy to me fleeing from my heavy workload at the office. It may have been a luxury trip but I was able to be refreshed and come back to work for the remaining 11 and half months.
Yesterday was Easter Sunday. We celebrated Jesus' resurrection from death. Although I invited one of my young classmates to the service, he couldn't come because of his sudden rehearsal. He sounded sorry for it but I told him to come anytime at his convenience. I hope he will come and hopefully join our choir in the future.
I had thought about Jesus' suffering, and I thought if there was anything more to do except prayer. So, I had decided to quit having my favorite sweets like chocolate, ice cream and so on for the past couple of weeks. As a result, I realized that I 'can' live without such kinds of sweets in my life.😁

Happy Easter!: He is risen!
今日は復活祭です。^^今日も日本語で失礼します。^^;明日からは英語に戻します。
すると、御使いは女たちに言った。
「恐れてはいけません。あなたがたが十字架につけられたイエスを捜しているのを、私は知っています。ここにはおられません。前から言っておられたように、よみがえられたからです。来て、納めてあった場所を見てごらんなさい。ですから急いで行って、お弟子たちにこのことを知らせなさい。イエスが死人の中からよみがえられたこと、そして、あなたがたより先にガリラヤに行かれ、あなたがたは、そこで、お会いできるということです。では、これだけはお伝えしました。」
そこで、彼女たちは、恐ろしくはあったが大喜びで、急いで墓を離れ、弟子たちに知らせに走って行った。すると、イエスが彼女たちに出会って、「おはよう。」と言われた。彼女たちは近寄って御足を抱いてイエスを拝んだ。(マタイ28:5-9 新改訳)
口語訳が分かりにくいので新改訳を引用しましたが、28章9節のイエス様の言葉が「おはよう」になっているのには新鮮な驚きでした。私は口語訳の「平安あれ」に慣れ親しんでいたので。翻訳も色々あって興味深いです。^^
原書のギリシャ語を調べてみたら「Χαίρετε（ヒェレテ）」になっていました。google英訳すると、文中では「Hail」単語だけだと「Hello」、ちなみに、私が習った会話では「こんにちは」は「Γειά σας（ヤーサス）」でした。

今年は4月21日がイースター：イスラエルの写真(’10)
このブログは英語オンリーのつもりだったのですが、明後日はイースターなので、私の日本語ブログを特別にコピーペイストさせて頂きます。↓

毎年使い回しの写真で恐縮ですが、、イースターを間近に控えるとどうしてもお見せしないではいられない写真なのです。一昨日の日曜日からずっと、祈る度にイエス様の受難を思い、涙がこぼれて仕方がありません。。
救われて数十年、沢山の信仰の証体験をしていても、聖書の中の出来事が時を経た今もリアルに胸に迫って来るものがあります。2010年11月聖地旅行に行った時の衝撃と感動は生涯忘れることはありません。↓
下は大祭司カヤパの官邸跡に建つ鶏鳴教会です。
正面の扉は立体的な絵になっています。斜めから撮ってみました。
ちょっととピントがずれてしまいましたが、これは教会内部です。
ここでペテロは、イエスを３度否んだ。
多くの道は長い間に変化してしまっていますが、この石段は第二神殿時代の石段で、イエス様が連行され歩かれた可能性が高いと言われています。
教会には地下牢があります。
今は観光客の為に照明と階段が付いていますが、当時はもちろん付いていません。あるのは天井の丸い穴だけです。とらえられた罪人はここから吊り降ろされ、自力では二度と地上に出ることは不可能です。
この地下牢はイエス様が地上生涯最後の夜を過ごした場所と言われています。私達はここで礼拝し祈りました。涙がポロポロこぼれて、胸が引き裂かれるような気持ちになりました。クリスチャンであれば、とても平常心ではいられない場所だと思います。
ヴィア・ドロロサです。
ハーベストタイム聖地旅行ガイドブックによれば、「ヴィア・ドロロサ」は「悲しみの道」という意味で、これは十字軍時代に始まった考え方だそうです。現在のような形になったのは１４世紀で、オスマン・トルコ時代の１６世紀半ばにさらに発展しました。時代によって道順が変化し、１４ステーションのうち聖書にあるのは９で、残りの５は伝承です。現在の１４ステーションは１９世紀に確定しました。

下は私が撮った写真の一部です。もっとちゃんと写すんだったと後悔してます。(^_^;;
第一ステーションは、現在エル・オマリエというアラブ人の小学校の敷地内にあります。下の写真は第二ステーションで、鞭打ちの教会です。イエス様は鞭打たれここで十字架を受けられました。
私達はここで礼拝を捧げることが出来、又このように手で触れて主を想い祈りました。イスラエルに行く前は、ゲッセマネの園で泣いてしまうのではないかと想像していましたが、実際は全く違いました。私はここで主の御臨在を強く感じ、何とも説明のしようがない程の気持ちになりました。みな泣いていました。ここも辛い場所でしたが、やはり地下牢が一番辛かったです。。
第三ステーションです。イエスが十字架の重みに倒れる。伝承。
第四ステーションです。母マリアとの出会い。伝承。
以前はここの場所でしたが、お店が陣取っていて景観が良くないので移動したそうです。
第五ステーションです。クレネ人シモン、十字架を負う。
第六ステーションです。ベロニカ、イエスの顔をハンカチで拭う。伝承。
第七、八がちょっと見当たりませんでした。（汗）下は第九ステーションです。聖墳墓教会の正面入り口。イエス、三度目に倒れる。伝承。
第十ステーションです。イエス、衣を脱がされる。
第十一ステーションです。イエス、十字架にくぎ付けにされる。
第十二ステーションです。イエス、十字架上で息を引き取る。
祭壇の下は十字架が建てられた場所で、穴に手を入れて岩にさわることが出来る。
第十三ステーションです。イエス、十字架より降ろされる。死体を置いたとされる石がある。現在の赤石は下の岩を保護する為大理石。巡礼者たちが削らないように。
第十四ステーションは暗くてちゃんと撮影出来ませんでした。今度行けたらちゃんと撮って来ます。(^_^;;
以前は聖書の中だけだった場所が、実際に行くことにより、現実のものとなって心に迫って来る感じでした。この道をイエス様が歩かれたかも知れない、この景色をご覧になったかも知れないなど、考えるだけで慕わしく、又イスラエルに行きたくなりました。
イエスは言われた。「わたしは、よみがえりです。いのちです。わたしを信じる者は、死んでも生きるのです。(新改訳 ヨハネ11:25)
Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life.
He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live.(NKJ)

Conversation with Siri
Last summer, I heard that Siri was useful for foreign language study. However, I hadn't even known what Siri was. I was so curious that I checked Siri to change the setting of language.

I set the language to American English, which means that I must speak English with an American accent.
When I talked to Siri, "How's the weather in Copenhagen?", she answered nothing. So, I pronounced like an American, then she responded: Looks like nice weather coming up in Copenhagen, Denmark today--up to xx℃".
Wow! I was amazed to hear that and continued talking to her "Check my e-mail" and she answered, "You have at least xx emails since xxx, 2019.". Well, it's so funny to talk with Siri, for she is the only person (AI?) I can talk to at home.。😅

A proud day for Astronomy ! Congratulations to the Event Horizon Telescope team on mankind’s very first picture of a Black Hole. Seen ‘backlit’ by light bent around the event horizon from behind, this amazing portrait of one of the least understood phenomena in the Universe will undoubtedly go down in History. Beauty ! 💥💥💥💥 I’m sure most of you folks know this - but it’s probably worth mentioning that this is not a run-of-the-mill black hole, the remnant of a single star, but a ‘super-massive’ black hole more than SIX BILLION times more massive than our Sun. People tend to think of black holes as something destructive and frightening. But these Supermassive Black Holes is seem to sit at the centre of most galaxies, including our own Milky Way galaxy. So perhaps they have a role to play in the creation of these glorious spirals, and are one of the reasons that we exist. I think I was the last to know about this, because I spent most of the day curled up suffering from a vile attack of a cold/flu. But the way in which this wonderful image was acquired reminds me that the best things are achieved by global collaboration. I have always looked towards greater international cooperation, rather than the restrictions to growth that go along with nationalism and isolation. This milestone is the work of scientists from many countries and telescopes configured all across the globe, effectively making an earth sized telescope ! This is the way to go ! Bri

This coming Easter
Easter is an event as very important as Christmas. We celebrate the Resurrection of Jesus Christ from death. He was crucified and died for our sins. Easter doesn't fall on the same day. How is decided? It's the Sunday following the full moon after the vernal equinox every year.
If interested, please come to our church. We, church choir will sing 'Behold the Lamb of God', 'Surely he hath borne our griefs and carried our sorrows', and so on with our orchestra. As usual, we will sing 'Hallelujah' together with our child choir. 😁
These photos were taken inside a shop in Salzburg, specializing in Easter eggs and supplies. They are amazingly very beautiful. Salzburg is one of my favorite cities in Europe. I love this Mozart associated city and also 'The Sound of Music' city.😁
